Knitting Wands, SilicaPins, and Other Glasswork

These are examples of functional artisan glass. They are all made of borosilicate glass for strength and durability. Borosilicate glass is familiar under the trademarks Pyrex (Corning) and Kimax (Kimble). Like the kitchen utensils made of similar glass, dropping them on the floor is not recommended, but they will survive drops on wood or linoleum floors.

Shown here are 7mm diameter 8" long Knitting Wands. Other sizes and lengths will be available soon.

They are available from Aurora Yarns in Scarborough, Maine, USA. Special forms and decoration are available by order.

The plain Knitting Wands are $15.00 a pair. Decorated ones start at $25.00 a pair depending on the number of colors and the complexity of the decoration.
